Areas of Expertise

Drug Product Manufacturing
AST solutions are informed by the latest technological advancements and best practices that address the full range of drug development and commercialization.
cGMP Operations & Compliance
With globally oriented regulations like the revised Annex 1 setting heightened requirements on product quality, process design, and contamination control, it’s crucial that best practices for aseptic operations and cGMP compliance be implemented from the start of your life sciences manufacturing project. From the facility to the fill line, AST offers guidance and support on operational planning and design, quality risk management. GMP documentation, EM program design, audit readiness, pre-production, and drug product lifecycle management.
CQV Training & Services
Pharmaceutical manufacturers are focused on implementing end-to-end approaches to drug development that prioritize quality and deliver improved time-to-market for safe, effective sterile medicinal products. AST offers the expertise and resources to navigate the CQV landscape and provides quality-based solutions that accelerate the path to production.
Research & Development
AST’s flexible fill-finish solutions, trusted by customers worldwide, began more than 20 years ago when AST answered the call to develop the life sciences industry’s first robotic fill-finish system capable of processing ready-to-use vials, syringes, and cartridges on a single line. Today, AST continues to develop cutting-edge solutions for aseptic processing and drug product manufacturing, including breakthroughs in pharmaceutical production technology, digitization, hands-free multi-format processing, isolator technology, and zero-waste processing advancements.
Project Management & Aftermarket Support
At AST, our Project Management and Customer Care teams support customers from the start of a project, facilitating key milestones, navigating hurdles, and managing timelines and resources on the road to installation and commissioning. Meeting critical customer requirements—like User Requirements Specifications, samples, and preliminary drawings—is essential for success. AST works with the customer to provide support and expertise to meet these needs throughout the project.
Mike Stella CEO at Ascend Advanced Therapies

“One of our core differentiators at Ascend is the level of investment in people and enabling technologies that we continue to make. After extensive evaluation, we chose the GENiSYS® C fill-finish system due to the ability to configure it to our needs and the support offered from the AST project management and aftermarket teams.”

Dr. Yousry Sayed Founder, President, and CEO of Quality Chemical Laboratories, Inc

"The GENiSYS® C and GENiSYS® R will allow us to serve our clients by enabling us to provide services from testing and validation through manufacturing all on the same campus. We are excited about the flexibility and quality these systems will provide to us to enable QCL to expand our capacity to fulfill a wide variety of customer projects.”

Karl Pinto Chairman of the Board, GBI Biomanufacturing (Goodwin Biotechnology Inc.)

“At Goodwin, we pride ourselves on being able to provide our clients with a fully integrated service offering from process development to cGMP bulk drug manufacturing and aseptic fill and finish, all under one roof. While we continue to offer our specialized, semi-automated filling solutions, the fully automated and flexible AST GENiSYS® C system will more than double our capacity and enable us to increase the batch sizes and formats we are able to deliver. This investment is another important step in our evolution from making clinical-stage products into supporting commercial manufacturing of complex biologics for our valued client base.”

Dr. Kurt Nielsen Former President and CEO of Pharmaceutics International, Inc.

“The GENiSYS® R is a game-changing solution for any small batch aseptic filling application. Until now, manufacturers had no ideal options for rapidly producing products requiring accurate filling in syringes, cartridges and vials in one unit operation in accordance with strict cGMP requirements. This innovative aseptic filling machine will enable Pii to continue delivering sterile clinical & commercial supplies with very aggressive timelines.”
