AST Names Industry Veteran Jon Lenihan as Chief Commercial Officer

Tacoma, WA — August 31, 2026 — AST is pleased to announce that Jon Lenihan has joined the AST Team as Chief Commercial Officer at the Tacoma-headquartered drug product equipment manufacturing company. Prior to joining AST, Jon served as Vice President of Strategic Manufacturing Partnerships at Emergent BioSolutions. His career spans executive leadership roles at publicly traded, VC-backed, and privately held organizations, including Argonaut Manufacturing Services, Vetter Pharma International, Abcam (Danaher Corporation), and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

With more than two decades of industry experience leading high-performing commercial operations, business development, and strategic partnerships across the biopharmaceutical sector, Jon brings a deep understanding of and appreciation for our customers and an expertise in strategic engagement, partnership development, and cross-functional team leadership. His proven ability to manage large networks and develop trusting relationships will further strengthen AST’s position as a leader in the drug product equipment manufacturing industry.

Jon holds an M.B.A. in Business Administration and an M.S. in Finance from Northeastern University. He also earned an M.S. in Cellular & Molecular Biology from the University of Cincinnati and a B.S. in Biology from Xavier University.
