Chief Operating Officer
Jacob Stephen joined the Executive Leadership Team in 2025 as Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Jacob is central in leading company-wide execution and advancing AST’s commitment to product quality, responsive service, and customer trust.
Jacob brings over two decades of leadership in spearheading large-scale initiatives, project management, and cross-functional team collaboration, including prior roles at Integrated Project Services (IPS), Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR), and Bovis Lendlease.
At AST, Jacob applies his global expertise in operations & project execution to the development and delivery of innovative, high-quality solutions for drug product manufacturing. He oversees day-to-day operations to drive company and customer milestones with versatile implementation strategies for project realization.
Leveraging a deep cGMP project portfolio, Jacob is driven by seeing real-world advancements in sterile product manufacturing come to life, pursuing work that he says “goes far beyond the jobsite, to directly supporting life-changing and lifesaving therapies.“
Jacob holds a B.A. in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts. When he’s not setting the course on the next groundbreaking life science project, Jacob enjoys traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family.
