Custom Web Processing Equipment
Custom manufacturing equipment has been AST’s focus since our beginning in 1965. For AST “Custom” means developing equipment / systems where off the shelf options do not exist. Over the years we have found that these projects are most successful when we work together with our customers to solve a particular problem. When we are able to blend our customer’s product and process expertise with our machine design capabilities, the results are often spectacular. We have successfully built equipment ranging from simple upgrades to complete turn-key production lines. AST has extensive experience in the disposable diaper industry.
Standard Machine Modules
Though our focus is in custom equipment, over the years, AST has invested in the development of standard modules for web processing applications. These modules are designed to integrate easily and alleviate many of the common limitations found in currently installed processing lines.
Standard Components
AST has built a catalog of standard web processing components and hardware which we are now sharing with our customers. In addition to the standard offerings we routinely provide custom variations to suit different applications.
Confidentiality
Many of AST's projects are proprietary in nature. We understand the importance of the competitive advantage that can be achieved with custom automated equipment. AST is careful to respect each customer's need for confidentiality. We maintain an access controlled "skunk works" area for sensitive projects as well as controlled servers to protect our customers' most sensitive intellectual property. In addition to specific training, key employees undergo background checks and all employees sign non-disclosure agreements before coming on board.
