Engineering:
We are very proud of our engineering department. These highly skilled individuals have many years of machine design and project management experience. Engineering at AST extends beyond the theoretical; they understand manufacturing practices. They take pride in bringing creativity, simplicity, and determination to the problem-solving process. State-of-the-art design capabilities are utilized, including CAD solid modeling and motion simulation.

The latest in electrical controls and programming capabilities are implemented to augment our innovations. We are certified under UL508A standards for our industrial control panels.

Manufacturing:
A strong facet of AST is our manufacturing ability. We have experienced machinists with talents and capabilities that are some of the best in the area. Our machinery includes Sharp vertical/horizontal mills, Mazak CNC vertical machining centers, Bridgeport mills, CNC and conventional lathes, horizontal boring mills, and miscellaneous support equipment. This skilled team of machinists will ensure that every part is correct per print, and that all tolerances have been achieved. Our fabrication capabilities include welding virtually all types of metals. MIG, TIG, Arc, and Dual-Shield are utilized to accommodate the variety of projects that we are regularly involved with.

AST also draws on the resources of a select group of subcontract shops that we have partnered with. These shops supplement our in-house competencies, thus providing an even broader spectrum of capability.

Assembly:
Our assembly department takes great pride in their attention to detail and insistence on maintaining our quality standards. All phases of assembly can be accomplished at AST, including electrical, controls, pneumatic, and hydraulic. The equipment will be assembled properly and then tested to the customer's specifications. AST will package the equipment and ship it around the world. We also have field personnel available to install the equipment at the customer's facility.

Customer Service:
Our customer service department is ready and eager to respond to our customer's special needs on a prompt basis. The majority of the equipment that AST manufactures is supported with spare parts. AST inventories these parts so they are available when the need arises.

Administration:
AST has personnel and procedures in place to thoroughly track all project purchases, labor hours, documentation, and completed parts.

Our planning department will efficiently transition the Bills of Material from the engineering department into production. The purchasing individuals exercise cost and quality control measures to ensure the best value is consistently achieved.

We have implemented Visual Manufacturing as our manufacturing control software. This
MRP system enables us to comprehensively monitor part flow, project costing and schedule, as well as manage the financial aspects of our organization.

Our accounting department is careful to monitor finances, pay bills in a timely manner, and invoice promptly to ensure that AST, our customers, and vendors remain financially healthy.
